Queen Kat and Maigan Lynn designs - Whimsical Ink Sorority@

Fantasy Art of Maigan Lynn

The name of this stamp is "Love never goes out of style". How true that statement is.

I love the styling of the Whimsical Ink Sorority and this stamp by Maigan Lynn. You will find that these stamps are richly detailed and so much fun to color.

I chose to use paper from the Whimsy stack by DCWV. The card base is a light green color, and then I used the patterned hearts from this set to finish off the card.

Please go visit our store website, there are some great new products, new artists and always great stamps at great prices.

Thanks so much for all of the warm wishes for my Boy's at the loss of their paternal Grandmother. We arrived home on Monday, March 21 late in the afternoon. It was a long drive.

Have a great day, stamp happy !

I Love Stamps!

This is an adorable stamp from The Greeting Farm

I have so enjoyed watching the many video tutorials on coloring skin tones with my Copic markers. Even though I have a copic certification, I am the very fist to admitt that I still have much to learn.

I have also been published again!  I have a card in the new issue of Just Cards Magazine, Spring 2011 on page 22, the write up is on page 23.  It is a whipper snapper card using the swooning cow.

I can hardly believe it is the beginning of a new week.  Most of the weekend I was sick in bed with a terrible headache and a stiff neck.  I could hardly even turn my head!  My sweet husband stepped up to the plate and pretty much took care of the meals.

Chad is doing well.  We had such a great laugh with him over dinner, telling him stories of when Mike and I first met and how stubborn he was back then.  His laugh is so genuine the entire room lights up! He is such a great kid, we are very lucky parents!

I hope you will all take time today to do at least one thing (big or small) that truly brings you happiness and joy.  Today I'm going to do some more stamping, I love stamps!

Sqigglefly New releases: Wishing Well - Lynne Stansbery

Wishing Well - Lynne Stansbery

Hoot Owl - Revi Devi Paat

Hi Friends!

I am have not posted in a few days.  My children, Craig Allan (age 22) and Chad Alexander (age 16) lost their paternal Grandmother last Wednesday.  She died suddenly in the hospital of a massive heart attack.

The three of us made a trek down south to Augusta, GA to attend the services.  Craig even wore his uniform.  I was very proud of both boys during this difficult time.

I am glad to be home, and am slowly catching up.  My husband Mike did a fantastic job while I was gone caring for our home and dogs, I couldn't ask for a better or more loving man to be mine.

Today's post features Squigglefly!  Oh you guys have to go check them out here.  There are so many fun images in the store and so many fun things you can do with them.

I printed the images off onto good quality card stock and used my heat gun to be sure the printer ink was dry.  I then colored them with my Copic markers.  Both cards took me about an hour to complete, mostly because my desk is a hot mess right now after my long trip.  Hopefully I'll get caught up and cleaned up here soon.

Thank you for your support and prayers!  I look forward to getting more post here on the blog for all of you and starting to catch up on some of my 'stamping' projects this week.

   Stamp Happy be a blessing,

Loretta Rodger

Coming soon to this House!

The picture is there just so you can have something to look at!  Cheesy I know.

OK, so onto our families big news, no I am not Pregnant.  We are getting ready to remodel our home.  We are going to re-do the siding and roof, replace and enlarge the front porch, add a fireplace and a new slider rear glass door.

On a different note, I promised to share my weight and weight loss goals here.  OK, here it is, I'm the heaviest I have ever been, weighing in at a not so healthy 190#.  That means to meet my goal weight I have to loose nearly 60#.  I have a doctor's appointment next week to chat about my blood sugar levels, blood pressure issues and current medications.  I hope to start decreasing my medications as the weight drops off.
Speaking of medications, my antidepressant is working great, I am taking Wellbutrion and it has done very well for me.  I would like to take a moment to encourage those of you suffering with depression to find a good doctor and it may take a few trials to find the right medication for your needs, but it is worth the journey.

I hope you are all doing well.  I hope to shoot a video tutorial for Queen Kat this week, so stay tuned!

Stamp happy!

A quick update

Chad the Honor Roll grade Kid!

Hi everyone, I have not been able to post for a while because of some personal obligations and happenings here in our home.

The boys and I went to Augusta (the second time for me in four weeks) to attend their paternal Grandmother's funeral.  More on our trip will be posted with the March 26 Squigglefly post.

I have been steadily re-organizing my pantry space in the craft room.  I recently purchased some of the clearence dies from Sizzix .  My order arrived while I was gone and I was so happy to be able to come home and open up my goodies.

                                                                                          Melissa Ashcraft
                                                                                    Chad James

Any one recognise that pretty girl making the weird face? Yup it is Melissa.  I was so thrilled to be able to pick her up and spend a few hours with her and the boys.  The Augusta Mall certainly has grown, and of course like many other girls, that is where she wanted to spend our time together.  The picture was taken outside of one of the fountains there.  It is a beautiful place to visit, and like any other Mall, the prices where a bit spendy.

I hope you all have a great day, Stamp Happy, Be a blessing!

PS come visit my blog on March 26, for a new Squigglefly.com digital stamp release!

God Bless the USA ! Squigglefly image!

When I first saw this image from Squigglefly, my first reaction was that of the old biker guys that do rides for freedom here in the USA.  This hardy fellow was no exception.  I seriously considered coloring all or parts of this image, but the simplicity of it just kept me from doing so.  I used copic color E44 and E40 as base colors for this image.

The card stock is cut from navy blue, red and white paper as are the stars.  They are from a retired sizzix die.  I cut the stars from heavy weight coaster board and distressed and sponged the edges.  I also added pop dots underneath the stars and main image for more dimension.

All of the subsequent layers are also distressed and sponged with a chocolate ink.  I used my scissors to do the distressing of the papers.  I hope you will go see all the wonderful images Squigglefly has for sale!

Onto a different subject matter, I was a participant at the "Captured" fairy bottle swap on a lil scrap of heaven,

In addition to the beautiful fairy bottle that Gloria sent me, she also sent me some great fun things, she sent vintage buttons, a note pad/stationary set and a very sweet card.  Thanks for the swap and goodies Gloria, they are very much appreciated.

Have a great day!  Stamp Happy and be a blessing!

Full Moon - artist Lynne Stansbery Squigglefly

Hi friends.  March 12 is the release date of this wonderful new image by Lynne Stansbery and is available in the Squigglefly store.  I chose to take this image and use a more masculine approach to it.  I love the two dogs howling and the sentiment is so perfect.  I chose to use different browns, the brown spotted paper is from K&Company.

Even though it appears to have many layers, I actually cheated a bit, I used two small scraps about 1/2" wide by 4" long above and below the main focal image, these pieces as well as all of the images/papers was sponged with a chocolate brown ink.  I chose to color the image with Copic markers E30,E33,E34, T4,G03, G02, and G12.  I love the depth of field the sponging gave to the project.  I hope you will go visit the Squigglefly store and buy some of these beautiful images.

Featured Artist! Visit Better Scrap! Queen Kat Designs!

A Better Scrap! I received the nicest email today from Beth with A Better Scrap.  Click here for the websight.  I am super excited.  My video tutorial on doing a card using one of the Dark Ink Society stamps from Queen Kat Designs.  I am so thrilled and honored.  Click here for their facebook page.
On another note, before I show you today's projet for Queen Kat.  I am posting the video (again) here to the blog of this fantastic honor!
.
Speaking of youtube, for those of you who's mother's did not teach you right from wrong, if you don't have anythng nice to say, say nothing at all.  It keeps you from looking like an idiot.  On that note, as my husband would say 'it is one thing to be thought of as a fool, it is another to open your mouth and remove all doubt". The idea of a crafting community is to uplift, encourage and learn.
With each passing day I am reminded, encouraged and blessed by the wise words of a wise man, I praise God for the gift of a great husband.

This is emily and her magical flute.  She is stamped onto The paper studio white card stock and colored with copic markers.  I cut her out to about 1 1/2" and layered her on top of an ATC.  Artist trading cards measure 3 1/2" X 2 1/2".  I tried to go 'springy' as I really need warmer weather.  I also used some The paper pantry patterned paper on this one.  It is simply decorated with a rolled rose and a piece of cross stitch floss.

Have a great day, stamp happy and be a blessing!

A video of the Double Decker Matchbox and stick pin swaps!

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/hUJjSe2LxoE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>iframe>

If the video doesn't play above click here for Youtube.  I really enjoyed creating these stick pins using the  Bitty Box and Envelope from StampinUp.  I used some double sided scrapbook paper from my collection.  Both the inside and outside of the box are sponged with green ink.  The flowers are from Prima and I created the 3D (butterfly in flight) using CG6000 transparencies from 3M.

The embossing powders are from my personal collection as is the lace and green gem on the front.  The feet are re-claimed antique beads I found from the thrift store.  Most thrift stores have bags of jewelry that are all tangled up for cheap, I think the most I've paid for one is $14.00.

I go through them, untangle and sort them all out, I keep what I would like to wear and take some jewelry pliers to the rest.  I've gotten some nice things and neat beads this way!

Join me for a Squiggle fly new release on March 12, 2011 and next week I hope to do another video tutorial using small glass vials with cork stoppers.

Thanks for joining me today, Stamp happy and be a blessing!

A few fun projects !

This adorable baby girl mini book is made from the retired onesie Sizzix die.  I used a simple hair band and tied the ribbons and garland onto the skirt.  This acts as the closure and the book opens up.  This was a gift for a friend and she probably will receive it in the mail today.  I left the pages (in greens, pinks and yellows) plain for the mom to be to decorate herself.  I really love how this came out.

Did I tell you that Mike and I are pleased to let you know we are getting a daughter.  Michael has proposed to his girl Julie and hopefully there will be a wedding in our near future.

Transparency 3D butterfly with a video tutorial

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rfocYhcMkiU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>iframe>

This project actually began as an attempt to partially re-create a butterfly that had been stamped and embossed onto blue card stock as part of a Christmas tag that I was given by my friend Karen Brand.  I loved her butterfly and it was one of the first I had seen that had curled wings so it appeared to be flying.

For several weeks after this, I experimented making them 3 dimensional.  My first attempts did not come out so well, but once I knew what and how I wanted it to look, the idea for the butterfly was born.  The first ones where stamped onto Vellum and made into pins, now I use them in so many ways, earrings, necklaces, mini book decorations and yes I still make pins.

You can easily do this at home by following this video tutorial.  Please subscribe to my Youtube Channel:  Iwannastamp and be sure to check out my blog here for more fun projects and video tutorials.  I am just learning how to use "Mr. Linky", so for now, I would prefer that you send me your creations to my email at Ms.Rhetta@gmail.com, mark them "3D butterfly".  All photos received will be published to this blog and if you have a blog, please include that information so I can publish it here as well.

If I receive more than ten entries, I will pick my personal top 3 and these individuals will receive a goody package in the mail from me.

I am taking orders for butterfly mini kits, each kit is $30.00 US Residents only.  This includes priority mail shipping.  Please use the "tip" jar on the side bar for payment and note "butterfly kit" in the description.  Please be sure to verify that your address is complete and let me know what colors you would like in your album or put 'surprise me' if you want me to pick from my stash for you.

Thank you for joining me today, If you want to watch the video on Youtube click here.
